Besides, there was a forum to share and discuss the knowledge and the applications relating to the strategies for sustainable development of the transportation infrastructures.

In his remarks at the 2-day conference, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung highlighted the significance of the event in providing the opportunity for domestic and international experts to exchange their experience in new technologies and construction solutions, as well as for local managers to enhance their understanding in order to issue new development policies and mechanisms relating to transportation infrastructure for the city.

He also underlined the necessity for the city to acquire the world’s advanced technical achievements quickly and effectively in order to bring them into fruition.

According to Mr Dung, many transport works featuring complex techniques and advanced technologies have been constructed in the city over recent years. Included were cable-stayed and suspension bridges, and prestressed concrete bridges.

The above-mentioned achievements have been mainly attributed to the great efforts by experts and engineers citywide and nationwide, as well as the active support by foreign experts through international conferences, he added.
