Since 2012, Da Nang has issued many incentive policies to facilitate businesses to access advanced technologies. The purpose is to help them improve their science and technology skills and promote the spirit of scientific research and technological application in a bid to create their high added-value products.

Also, the city has organised training courses on startup for individuals and groups, and given financial aid to businesses to encourage them to conduct research on many new technology products.

Besides, active assistance has been given to businesses to enhance the management of their technologies, and protect their intellectual property rights.

To date, a total of more than 3.4 billion VND from the city budget has been spent on helping 13 businesses implement their technological innovation projects, conduct technology transfer, and register for trademarks. In addition, 9 businesses and startup founders have received financial aid from the city’s Science and Technology Development Fund to develop their new products.

Recently, many businesses have paid much attention to carrying out technological innovation activities, and enhancing their competitiveness. Specifically mentioned are the Duc Huy Technology JSC, the Chau Da Co. Ltd, the Truong Giang Electric JSC, the Duc Quy Services and Trading Production JSC, the Nhat Linh Co. Ltd, and the Hong Dao Carton Packaging Co. Ltd.

Amongst them, the Chau Da Co. Ltd is a typical example in conducting research into new technological products and bringing them to fruition.

In particular, this year, the company has received 420 million VND in aid from the municipal budget to make a CNC cutting machine. The newly-made cutting machine has played an important role in improving the cutting accuracy, reducing the machining time, and bringing high profits.

The company’s Director, Mr To Tan Trung Dung, remarked the quality of the CNC cutting machine was quite similar to that of imported one, but the locally-made machine costs only half of imported one.

Apart from the Chau Da Co. Ltd, the Duc Huy Technology JSC has given financial aid, worth 375 million VND, to install safe and energy-saving toughened glass processing equipment. The safe and energy-saving toughened glass products have met practical needs and market development trends.

The equipment has helped the company have the self-control in its production and business activities, and ensuring the sufficient supply of high-qualified products for Da Nang, and neighbouring localities in the central region.
