Over the past 2 years, Da Nang’s tourism sector has paid special attention to implementing many tourism promotion programmes in such foreign countries as Qatar, South Africa (September 2018), France (December 2018), and Russia, Austria and the Czech Republic (June 2019).

During the programmes, leaders of the tourism sector have cooperated with foreign airlines and tourism businesses to boost the opening of more international direct flights linking Da Nang with Russia, Australia, India, and Northeast Asian and Southeast Asian nations.

As of August 2019, there had been a total of 41 direct international air routes to Da Nang, with the frequency of 482 flights per week. Amongst, there had been 17 scheduled and 24 charter direct international air routes to the coastal city from such foreign countries as China, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Qatar, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Besides, there had been 11 domestic air routes to the city with the frequency of 665 flights per week.

It is expected that, in September, Taiwan's Eva Air will launch non-stop service connecting Da Nang and Taipei in Taiwan, as well as exploit US tourists who have to transit at airports in Taiwan as flying to Da Nang.

Indonesia's Sriwijaya Air will start operating the new direct flights between Jakarta and Da Nang next month.

Also in October, Cambodia’s national flag carrier Angkor Air will launch its non-stop services between Da Nang and Phnom Penh and Vientiane with a frequency of 4 flights per week.

Next month, Viet Nam's private budget carrier Vietjet Air will start its direct services linking Da Nang with Japan’s Haneda with a frequency of 7 flights per week, and with Taiwan’s Taipei with a frequency of 4 flights per week.
