A conference on tourism cooperation promotion amongst Vietnamese and Southern Laotian localities took place in Champsasak Province. In attendance at the event were representatives of Da Nang and the provinces of Kon Tum, Binh Dinh, and Thua Thien-Hue, along with 4 southern Laotian localities.

The event offered a good opportunity for the tourism industry of the participating localities to introduce their popular attractions to one another, exchange information on tourism business activities, and discuss how to remove any obstacles in order to increase tourist arrivals to their localities.

Also at the event, the participants presented their ideas to enhance tourism cooperation amongst Vietnamese and Laotian localities. Included were the launching of tours to Viet Nam and Laos, and development of appropriate tourism types and special products, and mutual support for training human resources involved in the tourism industry.

In particular, representatives of the Da Nang Tourism Department proposed that the Da Nang –Champasak nonstop air service be opened in the coming time so as to meet the growing travel demand of tourists to the two localities.
