SURF 2019 aims to build Da Nang into regional startup hub
The Da Nang People’s Committee has issued specific plans on the organisation of the 4th International Startup Conference and Exhibition in Da Nang - SURF 2019.
Themed ‘Promoting the city’s resources to develop creative startup ecosystems’, this year’s event is scheduled to take place on 1 November at the Hai Chau District-based Grand Mercure Da Nang Hotel.
SURF 2019 aims to turn Da Nang into a creative startup hub of the region, linking startup ecosystems of localities in the Central and Central Highlands regions, and connect international resources with local communities.
This much-awaited event is expected to see the participation of municipal government leaders, domestic and international partners, start-up supporters, investors, mentors, and startup entrepreneurs.
Under the agenda, focus will be on conducting conferences, attended by a total of about 30 speakers and experts, on the development of start-up resources, finance, human resources, technology and other related aspects in the city.
Within the framework of the event, there will be between 40 and 70 startup booths, and startups pitching competition. The total estimated cost of SURF 2019 is nearly 2.4 billion VND, of which about 1.4 billion VND comes from the general public.
From 28 to 31 October, there will be 10 pre-event programmes, including the Da Nang-Youth Union-held Creative Idea Festival Day, a meeting of co-working spaces the Central Viet Nam Co-working Space Alliance, and Startup Weekend startup contest by the VN-UK Institute for Research and Executive Education.
