A famtrip delegation from Germany recently visited Da Nang and its neighbouring localities of Quang Nam and Thua Thien Hue in order to survey tourism products and infrastructure there.

Their visits aimed at learning about the efficiency of future non-stop flights departing from Da Nang as well as seek suitable travel partners in these localities so as to bring even more tourists from the European country to Viet Nam in the coming time.

During their stay in the 3 central localities from 27 to 30 September, the German guests visited such Da Nang’s popular attractions as Linh Ung Pagoda, Sun World Ba Na Hills, Marble Mountains Tourist Area, Son Tra Peninsula, My Khe Beach, and Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park, along with the Hue Imperial Citadel in the namesake province, plus Quang Nam Province’s Hoi An.

Also within the framework of their journeys, the German delegation stayed at some 4-5 star accommodation establishments in the 3 localities.

It is known that Germany is now one of Da Nang’s potential tourist source markets, and it has grown impressively since the opening of the non-stop Da Nang-Doha air service. Opened in December 2018, the air service has helped the city connect with 150 destinations in the Middle East, Western Europe, and North America, hereby increasing tourist arrivals from these highly potential regions.

In a similar vein, from 29 September till 3 October, jointly arranged by the Da Nang-based Omega Tours and the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents, a Malaysian famtrip delegation is visiting Da Nang in order to gain an insight into the progress of incentive tour services here.

The Malaysian delegation consists of 12 representatives of tour operators specialising in incentive tour services in Penang and Kuala Lumpur.

Incentive tour services fall under Meetings, Conferences, Incentives and Events (MICE) tourism, and they are used by companies or organisations as a noncash reward for their productive employees and loyal customers.

These guests are conducting a survey on attractions, tourism products and services in the central coastal city for their future tourism programmes.

Tourism businesses active in the incentive travel service industry typically require a welcome service for visitors at airports and souvenirs for groups of tourists, as they enjoy these benefits at other destinations.

The Omega Tours has cooperated with its partners involved in supplying lodging, entertainment, teambuilding and gifting services so as to serve Malaysian customers in need of an incentive tour service.

Between January and August, Malaysian tourist arrivals in the city climbed by 60%.

In detail, the city welcomed some 4,810 Malaysian visitors in January, and this figure increased to over 7,490 in August. Over the 8-month period, the city attracted a combined total of 55,562 Malaysian travellers.

The number of tourists from this Southeast Asian market to Da Nang is highly expected to continue the upward trend for the remaining months of this year.
