More ASF-infected pigs destroyed

On Tuesday morning, the Hoa Lien Commune authorities in Da Nang’s Hoa Vang District destroyed a herd of 15 pigs weighing 495 kilos in total owned by a family in the commune’s Quan Nam 4 Village after these animals were tested positive for African swine fever (ASF).

Accordingly, th ASF-infected pigs were buried at a vacant land lot nearby the Ho Ba Tuong Cemetary, more than 200m from the National Highway 1A.

Mr Ngo Thanh Tam, Vice Chairman of the Hoa Lien Commune People’s Committee, said the commune authorities have placed warning signs at the burial area after completing the destruction process. In addition, functional bodies have increased their periodic checks over the burial area to promptly handle the expected problems of land subsidence, erosion, leakage, and bad odours.
