Joining in tourism fairs is an effective way for businesses operating in Da Nang to promote their products to their potential partners. However, how to increase the efficiency of such necessary events is not an easy task.

Tourism fairs should be organised in a more methodical way for the sake of businesses. Representatives from Da Nang-based travel agencies are pictured participating in a locally-held tourism promotion fair.

In his perspectives in making locally-held tourism fairs more efficient and inviting, Mr Nguyen Van Tai, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the city-based Necotour highlighted the significance of active involvement of representatives from accommodation and service providers, the management boards of tourist attractions and traditional craft villages, plus those from travel agencies in such events.

Besides, he suggested that such events be opened to both locals and tourists so that they can access tour packages offered at a reasonable price.

It is also worth noting that, foreign partners and businesses should be invited to international-level tourism fairs as a way to facilitate them to advertise the great potential of the domestic tourism industry for better tourist attraction activities.

In his point of view, Mr Nguyen Son Thuy, the Director of the city-based Indochina Unique Tourist Co., Ltd., underlined a must-do for tourism businesses to proactively enhance the quality of their products and services.

In order to attract more potential clients, during their participation in travel fairs, travel agencies should place a focus on advertising their key, most profitable products.

Also, heed should be paid to enhancing such must-have skills as how to show off products in an impressive manner, grasp customer psychology, and most importantly, demonstrate what products they can bring to their clients.

Mr Le Tan Thanh Tung, the Deputy General Director of the city-headquartered Viet Nam Tourism Joint Stock Company Vitours, affirmed an urgent need to increase the level and scale of tourism fairs.

In order to enhance the effectiveness of tourism promotion as well as tourist attraction activities, Da Nang should organise international tourism fairs like the 2016 Beach-Leisure & MICE Travel Mart (BMTM Da Nang 2016).

If possible, the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism should take the initiative to develop the existing International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City 2016 (ITE HCMC), the largest and most established international travel event in Viet Nam, into the ITE Viet Nam, in the near future.

It is a good idea to turn the city-level travel fairs into international-level ones that takes place in rotation amongst Vietnamese localities.
