On Thursday, the Da Nang Department of Tourism held an event entitled ‘Da Nang Tourism Roadshow 2019’ in Bangkok, Thailand, to promote the city’s tourism to Thai travel businesses.

In his remarks at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Nguyen Hai Bang said Da Nang has been emerging as one of the best destinations to visit in Viet Nam, and Asia as a whole, over recent years.

Mr Bang noted recent years have seen an increasing number of foreign tourist arrivals in Da Nang thanks to its special tourism products, UNESCO-recognised world heritage sites, beautiful beaches, good infrastructure with a modern seaport and international airport, spacious urban landscape space, healthy environment, and the friendliness of local residents.

Over the recent year, Thailand has become one of Da Nang’s key international tourist markets, the Vietnamese ambassador said.

The opening of Bangkok- Da Nang non-stop flights operated by Bangkok Airways, Air Asia and Vietjet Air, and the upcoming launch of Vietnam’s national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, have helped to enhance the bilateral cooperation ties in the aspects of trade, economic, tourism and culture, between the two cities, and the countries as whole.

Also at the event, a spokesperson for the municipal Tourism Department introduced attendees to popular attractions in Da Nang, and its tourism connection activities with other localities like Quang Nam Province’s Hoi An City, Hue City, and Quang Binh Province.

According to Thai media agencies, Viet Nam has seen a growing number of Thai visitors thanks to the operation of cheap flights. In particular, between January and August this year, Viet Nam welcomed a total of 310,955 Thai tourists, up 46.3% compared with the same period last year, and the figure is expected to grow in the time ahead thanks to the operation of more nonstop flights between Thailand and Viet Nam.

The media affirmed Central Viet Nam is the most favourite destination among Thai holiday-makers, with Da Nang, Hue, and Hoi An being the top choices.
