The city's economy registers impressive growth in 9 months

Between January and September, Da Nang’s total budget revenue hit over 21,216 billion VND, fulfilling 77.5% of this year’s estimates.

The figure was released at the 18th municipal Party Committee meeting which opened on Tuesday morning.

In his remarks at the event, municipal Party Committee Secretary Truong Quang Nghia, affirmed, during the 9-month period, most of the city’s socio-economic indicators were enhanced considerably, with the economy maintaining its sustainable growth rate.

During the review period, focus was on making apporiate adjustments to the master urban plan for the city’s progress by 2030, with a vision towards 2045, and socio-economic development strategies by 2030, and implementing Politburo's Resolution No 43-NQ/TW regarding the city’s progress by 2030 with a vision toward 204, with a target at developing Da Nang into a green, modern-smart, global city with unique identity.

According to a report presented by municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary Vo Cong Tri, the city’s investment and business environment were improved considerably.

Since the start of the year, the city has attracted over 3,560 billion VND worth of domestic investment and 632.2 million US$ in FDI.

In particular, there were 101 newly-registered projects totalling 416.3 million USD, with each valued at 41.2 million US$, up 8 times in the total capital and 78 times in terms of average capital/project compared with the same period last year.

The existing 11 FDI projects raised their capital with a total additional sum of 117.32 million US$, up nearly 63 times in the amount of additional capital versus the year-ago period.

Also during the 9-month period, the city’s total development investment capital reached an estimated 29,955 billion VND.

The number of combined (overseas and domestic) visits to the city stood at 7.2 million, equal to 87.6% of the year’s target. The total revenue generated from tourism activities reached 25,311 billion VND, making up for 92.4% of the year’s target, and up 20.7% versus the year-ago period.

The total budget spending was estimated at 10,441 billion VND, representing 59.4%, of the year’s estimates.

A total of 755 social policy families received financial aid from the city authorities to build their new houses or repair their downgraded ones. In addtion, employment was created for 21,285 locals.
