Following recent approval from the Da Nang authorities, over 24 billion VND from the city budget will be spent on installing traffic surveillance cameras and push-button traffic light systems exclusively for pedestrians along Vo Nguyen Giap Street in Son Tra District.

In order to cross the street, pedestrians press the button in the control panel of the cylinder-shaped light systems. Accordingly, the systems will switch from green to yellow for 3 seconds and turn red for 15 seconds, hereby enabling vehicles travelling on the street to stop in the intersection to allow pedestrians to cross safely.

The municipal Department of Transport will be responsible for the installation.
