City reaches GRDP growth of 6.47% in 2019
Da Nang’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in 2019 hit a 6.47% rise compared with the same period last year. Amongst, the service sector contributed the largest percentage to the city’s GRDP growth at 83.49%, followed by industrial sector at 16.13%, and agro-forestry and fisheries sector at 0.38%.
The economy's scale reached an estimated 109 trillion VND at current prices, a rise of around 8,500 billion VND against 2018.
As of 15 December, the city authorities had granted business permits to a total of 5,267 new businesses, branches and representative offices, with the total investment of 26,130 billion VND. These figures showed 6.9% and 0.2% increase in the number of enterprises and investment capital respectively against 2018.
The investment and development capital of the whole society is estimated to have gone up by 2.84% against last year to hit 39,712 billion VND. Of this, 8,570 billion VND came from the State sector, 25,608 billion VND from non-State sector, and the remaining 5,534 billion VND from FDI sector.
The total import and export turnover is likely to have hit 2,988.4 million USD, up 0.94% compared with the same period last year. In particular, the exports reached an estimate of 1,623.1 million USD, up 1.68%, and the imports generated 1,365.3 million USD, up 0.08%.
The city has kept inflation at 1.46%, the lowest record during the 2017-2019 period. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in 2019 went up by 2.79 % against last year.
