Da Nang’s key tasks for next year were approved at the recent 12th session of the Da Nang People’s Council in its 9th tenure for the 2016 - 2021 term. Notable amongst them are the implementation of the Resolution of the municipal Party Committee in its 21 tenure, the socio-economic development plan for the 2016 – 2020 period, and the Politburo’s Resolution No 43-NQ/TW regarding the city’s progress by 2030 with a vision toward 2045, with a target at developing Da Nang into a green, modern-smart, global city with unique identity.

Importance will be attached to implementing the ‘2020: the year of promoting investment attraction’ landmark campaign in a synchronous and effective manner, with a heed to accelerating spearhead economic sectors.

As for next year’s specific key targets, the city targets to secure a rise of 9% in its gross regional domestic product (GRDP) compared to this year. The added values of the service, industry - construction and agro-forestry-fishery sectors are expected to climb by 9-9.5%, 8-9% and 4-5%, respectively. The exports is estimated to go up by 7-8%, whilst the total State budget revenue is likely to surpass the Party Central Committee’s estimates. The total development investment capital is expected to increase by 5-6%. The rate of job creation will rise by 4.2%, whilst the rate of trained labourers up 59%, and the rate of households living below the city-set poverty thresholds standing at only 2.04%.
