Constructive ideas for sake of better tourism industry collected

A meeting on tourism development plan, recently held by the Da Nang Department of Tourism, has collected many constructive suggestions from representatives of relevant agencies, airlines and tourism service providers across the city.

In the face of the changing global tourism market, the municipal Department of Tourism-drafted Tourism Promotion Plan 2020 will focus on developing such major domestic tourist source markets as the Central Highlands, the Northeast and the Southwest regions), maintaining such traditional international markets as Japan, South Korea, China and Southeast Asia, and fully tapping potential foreign ones, including Western Europe, Russia, Australia, North America and India.

Besides, importance will be attached to promoting the opening of more international nonstop air services connecting Da Nang with other destinations worldwide, and effectively implementing the IT application in the promotion of the local tourism under the theme of night-time tourism products, and culinary and wedding-oriented tourism products targeted at international tourists.

Mr Nguyen Van Tai, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the city-based Necotour highlighted the significance of promoting the publicity of Da Nang’s strengths, speeding up on-site promotion programmes, and appealing for more active involvement by the general public in tourism-related activities.

Other attendees at the meeting also underlined a need for the city to promote cruise tourism by cooperating with major seaports around the world.

Receiving these enthusiastic and useful sharing from the participants, the municpal Department of Tourism will adjust and complete the Tourism Promotion Plan 2020 so as to ensure the compliance with the upcoming tourism development strategies.
