Hai Van Tunnel stays open around the clock during Tet
In order to serve the growing travel demand of people during the Tet holiday, the Hai Van Tunnel is staying open around the clock from 20 - 29 January (26th day of the 12th lunar month to 5th day of the 1st lunar month) without being closed for cleaning as normal days.
DII employees were actively involved in doing maintenance work in the Hai Van Tunnel |
According to the normal operation process, the Hai Van Tunnel is allowed to be closed from 3am to 4am daily for cleaning, and doing maintenance work.
However, the Ho Chi Minh City-headquartered Deo Ca Investment JSC (DII ) has made every effort to implement environmental hygiene and maintenance work ahead of Tet in order to ensure that the Hai Van Tunnel will stay open around the clock during Tet.
Deputy General Director of DII Vo Ngoc Trung said the volume of vehicles travelling through the tunnel during the Tet increases sharply with an average of between 14,000 and 19,000.
Keeping the Hai Van Tunnel stay open during Tet will help vehicles shorten their circulation time of goods, and satisfy the increasing travel demand over Tet.
