Cut flower is considered as an indispensable item on Valentine’s Day.

A wide range of cut flower varieties, including orchids, waxflowers, sunflowers, and roses are available for sale at many stores along such major streets as Tran Phu, Pham Phu Thu and Le Duan.

Amongst common cut flower varieties, red roses remain the bestsellers. The retail price of a sprig of roses now is about 10,000 VND, doubling its price on normal days.

Many eye-catching bouquets and baskets of cut flowers are being sold at the prices between 250,000 VND and millions of VND each, depending on the types of flowers and sizes of baskets.

Apart from cut flowers, such traditional gifts as stuffed animals, bags, clothes, cosmetics, jewellery and perfume, are also preferred by buyers.

Also, chocolates in red wrappers and heart shaped boxes, which are being offered at the prices of between 200,000 VND and 500,000 VND each box, are favourited by buyers.

In addition to locally-made chocolate, there are many imported products from such foreign countries as the USA, France, Belgium, Poland, and Japan.
