The city's efforts to keep tourists safe from Covid-19
Although no confirmed cases of the coronavirus (Covid-19) have been reported in Da Nang to date, the city’s tourism industry has been hit hard by the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

Therefore, tourism companies, tour operators, and tourist sites in the city are making every effort to keep visitors safe amid Covid-19 fear .
Mr Nguyen Duc Vu, the Head of the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beaches, said infection control guidelines and recommendations given by the Ministry of Health have been introduced to beach service providers. In particular, they are asked to wear face masks and wash their hands with antibacterial liquid when coming into contact with visitors.
Public toilets and freshwater shower areas are frequently cleaned up. Signboards with warnings about Covid-19 in both Vietnamese and English languages are being placed along coastal walks and paths.
Since the Tet holiday, the Marble Mountain Tourist Area has seen a dramatic drop in tourist arrivals. Most of foreign arrivals to this site have come from South Korea, and some English speaking countries.
Mr Nguyen Van Hien, Head of the Management Board of the Marble Mountains Tourist Area, said his unit has given free face masks to visitors. Also, this site has been cleaned up in a bid to prevent the possible spread of the virus in the city.
In addition, tour operators are making great efforts to increase visitor arrivals in the city.
Mr Le Tan Thanh Tung, Deputy General Director of the Vitours, stressed the need for travel agencies to provide the best services for their clients.
He underlined the necessity for travel agencies to offer free face masks and handwash liquid for their guests, as well as take them to uncrowded places to visit.
He also highlighted the importance of targeting new visitors from countries unaffected by Covid-19.
