Accelerating progress of the city's public investment projects
According to the Da Nang Department of Planning and Investment, the city will disburse 12,373 billion VND (over 530 million USD) in public investment funds to deploy its 536 projects in the year 2020. So far this year, 5,253 billion VND (around 225 million USD) has been granted for 43 key projects.

A large number of construction projects are carried out across the city, and they have not been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Construction units are making every effort to ensure the on-schedule implementation of such key projects as the construction of the Centre for Neurological Surgery, Traumatology and Orthopaedics and the Organ and Stem Cell Transplantation Centre, both at the Da Nang General Hospital, the upgrade of the Khanh Son landfill, and the rebuilding of the Trung Vuong Junior High School.
In addition, top priority are being given to ensuring on-time project delivery and making sure that some projects can be officially opened to the public on 2 September to mark the 75th anniversary of the National Day. Included are the expansion of the existing APEC Park in Hai Chau District’s Binh Hien Ward, the building of an anti-erosion embankment on one side of the Yen River in Hoa Vang District, and the construction of the Cam Le industrial cluster.
Meanwhile, work is now being on track on the building of the Cam Le industrial cluster, the housing project for workers in the Hoa Cam Industrial Park, the 2nd phase of the upgrade of the Phu Loc wastewater treatment plant, and the upgrade of the Ngu Hanh Son wastewater treatment plant. The construction of the projects is scheduled to be completed during this year.
The municipal authorities are accelerating the site clearance progress for such projects as the upgrade of the DT 601 route, the riverside Tuyen Son-Tuy Loan route, and the Hoa Phu - Hoa Ninh inter-communal route.

Mr Nguyen Huu Hinh, the Director of the city’s Management Board of Industrial and Civil Engineering Construction and Investment Projects, remarked construction units have urged their workers to make greater efforts to keep their projects, especially key ones, on track.
He added coronavirus-related additional health and safety precautions have been put in place such as mandatory social distancing between workers, daily on-site body temperature measurement, and use of face coverings to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Director of the municipal Department of Planning and Investment Tran Phuoc Son noted that accelerating the progress of key construction projects would play a vital role in helping promote the city’s growth in the time to come.
Besides, preparations to allow the selection of contractors and groundbreaking ceremonies for new construction projects to be held have been basically completed. These projects include dealing with inundation problems at the Khe Can Canal, the 1st stage of the building of the Cam Le District and Son Tra medical stations, upgrading the existing headquarters of the municipal People's Council at 42 Bach Dang into the Museum of Da Nang, the 1st stage of the upgrade of the Da Nang Vocational Junior College, and the construction of the Hoa Vang Senior High School No 2.
