CAAV is seeking views on a proposal to allow domestic air carriers to operate 52 daily return flights between the capital Ha Noi (HAN) and Ho Chi Minh City (SGN), and 20 daily round trips on routes from HAN and SGN to Da Nang (DAD).

Also, Vietnamese airlines should be allowed to resume ticket sales for their permitted summer schedule in June.

In addition, distancing of at least one seat applying for domestic flights should be lifted.

However, CAAV recommended that certain restrictions and preventive measures adopted for domestic flights should remain in place in order to curb the spread of coronavirus. Included are strict implementation of health check procedures for passengers and crew before each flight, following all mandatory requirements such as the wearing face masks in order to ensure the safety for passengers, flight crew and the community.
