Humanitarian Market 2020 held in the city to support those affected by coronavirus
The Da Nang Red Cross Society was partnering with the Co-op Mart in Da Nang to organise the Humanitarian Market 2020 at its headquarters at 522 Ong Ich Khiem Street on 24 May.
The one-day event provided essential goods to those in need. Included were rice, cooking oil, seasoning seeds, chicken eggs, instant noodles, fish sauce, monosodium glutamate, and sugar.
Also at the event, the city’s Red Cross Society gave 500 free coupons, worth 150,000 VND each, to disadvantaged people to exchange for goods.
Launched by the National Committee of the Viet Nam Red Cross Society, the ‘humanitarian market’ model aimed to support people affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
This model will cost 10 billion VND (425,500 USD) and it will be carried out until late May in 63 cities and provinces nationwide. Between 4 and 8 May was peak period for carrying out this model throughout the country.
