Many key transport projects in Da Nang have not been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the Da Nang government has allowed construction activities to continue as normal, works are in full swing.

Despite the hot weather, a bustling working atmosphere has been seen at the construction site of a bridge spanning the Co Co River in Ngu Hanh Son District’s Hoa Hai Ward. Engineers and workers at this site are making their great efforts to ensure that the project stays and finishes on schedule.

As part of the riverside Tuyen Son-Tuy Loan route project, construction works on anti-erosion embankment, drainage system and some technical infrastructure systems, stay on track.

Mr Nguyen Bang Linh, a representative from the project’s construction unit, said his unit has put in place COVID-19 related additional health and safety precautions such as mandatory social distancing between workers, daily on-site body temperature measurement, and use of face coverings to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus.

In order to avoid crowds and ‘non-essential gatherings’, the construction site managers divide their workers into small groups of 10 people each. The lunch breaks and stretch breaks of the workers are staggered to avoid the clustering of workers.

Construction works on the 1st stage of the ring road project connecting National Highway No 14B and the Ho Chi Minh Trail are also on track, and are scheduled to be delivered in October.

The construction units have been making every effort to accelerate the construction progress of the Hoa Ninh-Hoa Phu inter-commune road in Hoa Vang District.

Work is now being on track on a project on re-arrangement of traffic at the western end of the Tran Thi Ly Bridge.
