Many companies in the city resume operations after social distancing relaxed

Many companies in Da Nang have resumed operations after the nationwide social distancing rules were relaxed on 23 April. However, these businesses still stay vigilant and are carrying out preventive actions in a bid to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Mr Tran Hoang Thai, the Director of the Thanh Khe District-based Dewoo Co.,Ltd. which specialises in manufacturing composite and wooden doors, said , his company has increased its worker numbers to 35 from 20 after reopening. However, the company cannot go back to business as usual in the wake of the coronavirus.

Construction industry is one of the hardest-hit by the pandemic.

Mr Do Giang Chung, Deputy Director of Tradeline Viet Nam remarked, his online trading platform has seen a sharp decrease in the number of visits since late February, especially during the 3-week period of nationwide social-distancing measures. However, Chung added “We have witnessed a significant spike in visits to our site since mid-April”.

Currently, Tradeline is launching many programmes to support domestic businesses, especially companies operating in Da Nang, in order to help them increase their online sales.

In the coming time, the company will focus on promoting marketing campaigns in Da Nang, Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City.

On 23 April, road transport service providers in the city resumed their services.

Mr Nguyen Van Hien, the General Director of the city-based Phu Hoang Transport Services Joint Stock Company, which operates Tien Sa Taxi, said that his company put in place preventive measures after resuming its services. Included imposing limits on the passenger carrying capacity of all taxis, disinfecting the vehicles after ending their journeys, and asking passengers to use face coverings, and clean their hands before getting on/off vehicles.

Besides, such taxi companies as Mai Linh and Airport have resumed operations, but they are seeing low passenger numbers.

The Da Nang Hi-Tech Park-based Tokyo Keiki Precision Technology Inc has taken all necessary steps and precautions to ensure the safety of its staff after reopening.

Mr Le Tan Thanh Tung, Deputy General Director of the Vitours, said the coronavirus pandemic is a devastating blow to tourism industry, but it is offering tourism companies the opportunity to train their employees, develop new tourism products, and seek new source markets for overseas tourists coming to Da Nang after the pandemic passes.

He emphasised that his company will promote the application of technologies and the use of e-commerce to seek sources of visitors from both home and abroad in the coming time.
