Solutions for accelerating recovery of the city's tourism discussed
A seminar entitled ‘Smart Tourism: Technology and Solutions for Post-Pandemic Tourism Recovery Environment’ took place in Da Nang on Thursday.
Organised by the Song Han Incubator, the event aimed to find best ways to help local tourism businesses recover from Covid-19.
Latest figures released by the municipal Department of Tourism show that the coronavirus pandemic has resulted in the loss of more than 1,850 billion VND (around 80 million USD) in the city’s tourism industry. Da Nang’s tourism earnings have dropped by 51% compared to the same period last year.
The municipal Department of Tourism is planning to revive the tourism industry with a focus on attracting domestic visitors to the city, conducting tourism marketing campaigns in localities nationwide, and promoting the city’s tourism products through digital marketing.
Also, the city will more effectively use smart applications and social networking sites, including Fanpage Danang Fantasticity, chatbot, Tiktok, and Zalo for introducing the image of the city to both domestic and international travellers.
Besides, some discussions at the event focused on developing new and special tourism products to meet the increasing demand of visitors, as well as creating closer links between travel agencies, airlines, tourism businesses, media agencies, and more.
Also at the event, five new startup projects were introduced to the participants. These projects are an automatic coffee and bubble tea processing machine made by the Ha Noi-based Le Vu Business Solutions JSC, the Enet app by the HCM-based Travel Enet Technology JSC, the virtual fitting room app called ‘Smart Fashion’ by the Da Nang-based BAP Investment and Technology JSC, the online business management platform at Base.vn by the Ha Noi-headquartered Base Enterprise JSC, and the ‘Online Fair’ app by the Song Han Incubator.
