The Da Nang People's Committee on Wednesday morning held an investment promotion webinar in a bid to attract even more investment from Taiwan (China) into the city’s priority aspects.

The online event was co-chaired by Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Ho Ky Minh and Head of the Viet Nam Economic and Cultural office in Taipei Nguyen Anh Dung.

Delivering his opening speech at the webinar, Vice Chairman Minh affirmed Taiwan is now one of Da Nang’s key trade and investment partners showing off rich experience in the aspects of hi-tech, IT, and high-quality services to all of which Da Nang gives the major priority under the development strategies of Da Nang to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

As of June, Da Nang has attracted 19 Taiwan-invested projects totalling over 75 million US$.

Also at the event, Director of the Da Nang Investment Promotion Agency Huynh Lien Phuong highlighted investment opportunities in Da Nang and the city's specific investment incentive policies for Taiwanese businesses.

The Da Nang Hi-tech Park is welcoming domestic and foreign projects which are worth 100 million US$ and more, and can generate at least 15 million US$ per ha.

Also, all business operating at the Park are totally eligible for special privileges in terms of land rental fees and corporate income taxes.

The event also featured discussions about how to train staff for hi-tech and IT industries, and ways to improve their skills and professionalism within the two sectors in an international multicultural environment.

With the city authorities’ great efforts and strong response by businesses, Da Nang is highly expected to affirm its stature as an attractive and highly-competitive destination for Taiwanese investors, affirmed Chairman Minh.
