As of 3pm on 4 August, 1,695 domestic travellers stranded in Da Nang due to coronavirus outbreak have registered to fly home in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City, according to data published by the Da Nang Department of Tourism on Thursday afternoon.

In detail, 961 people will return to Ha Noi, whilst the remaining 734 will fly home in Ho Chi Minh City.

The stuck travellers have been unable to get home due to travel retrictions issued by the Da Nang government in response to a new wave of Covid-19 infections.

The Da Nang authorities are working with governments of Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City to arrange two special flights to bring stranded travellers home from Da Nang.

Also, the Da Nang government has asked the Ministry of Transport to support the city's efforts in bringing back the stuck travellers, and urged the Steering Committees for Covid-19 Prevention and Control in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City, to prepare plans to welcome back their citizens.
