Most recently, the Da Nang government has allowed construction sites of some of the city’s key projects to resume work in a bid to ensure their on-scheduled progress after many downed tools in late July to help slow the spread of the coronavirus, as well as ensure the safety for construction workers when the rainy season is coming.

In particular, work has been allowed to resume on some construction sites in Lien Chieu District. Included are the Golden Hills eco-urban area, the Vet 50m project on extended Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, and shophouses in the Phuong Trang high-rise trade and service complex.

Mr Huynh Anh Vu from the Management Board for the Da Nang Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects said his unit has been allowed to reopen its construction sites for such major projects as a bridge spanning the Co Co River in Ngu Hanh Son District’s Hoa Hai Ward, the Quan Nam Bridge, a wastewater collection system along Hoang Van Thai Street, and the Lien Chieu wastewater treatment plant.

Mr Pham Dieu, a representative from a construction unit, said his unit has put in place Covid-19 related additional health and safety precautions such as mandatory social distancing between workers, daily on-site body temperature measurement, and use of face coverings to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Mr Nguyen Anh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Management Board of Construction and Investment Projects for Agriculture and Rural Development Works, said work has been allowed to resume on the construction site for the upgrade and repairing of 9 small reservoirs namely Ho Tray, Phu Tuc, An Nhon, Tan An, Dieu Phong, Ho Cai, Ho Thung, Truong Da Bac and Ho Lang in Hoa Vang District.

Mr Tuan remarked that his unit has taken more actions to ensure that the project is completed efficiently, on time before the wet season comes.

Previously, the municipal Department of Construction had allowed some builders to reopen their construction sites for some rainwater drainage systems in the city amid coronavirus crisis in an effort to deal with possible flooding problems in some urban areas during the upcoming monsoon season. They include the 2nd stage of the upgrade of the Phu Loc wastewater treatment plant, the dredging of sections of the Co Co River, the upgrade of the Ngu Hanh Son wastewater treatment plant, the building of an anti-landslide embankment system along a section of the Vinh Dien River in Ngu Hanh Son District’s Hoa Quy Ward.
