As of 20 July, the Da Nang budget govenment collection has hit 12,177 billion VND, fulfilling 39.4% of the year’s target. Meanwhile, the Da Nang budget govenment spending has reached 15,931 billion VND, an increase of 21.9% compared with the same period last year due to coronavirus outbreak.

Da Nang Department of Finance Director Nguyen Van Phung said, the budget govenment spending has been prioritised for responding to Covid-19 outbreak and providing support for those affected by Covid-19 in the city.

Mr Phung said that, in response to the ongoing coronavirus resurgence in the city, the Da Nang government has planned to cut by 70% in expenses for government employees on overseas work trips, and reduce unnecessary expenses.

Previously, the Department had asked for permission from the city government to grant special support for those who are on the frontline of Da Nang's response to Covid-19.

In particular, people who are placed in quarantine in designated facilities and those who are on the frontline of Da Nang's response to Covid-19 will get financial support of 85,000 VND from the city's budget for meals per day per person .

Medical workers staffing coronavirus isolation sites will get financial grants of 500,000 VND from the city's budget per person per day. The financial support for them will increase to 800,000 VND per person per day if the complex situation develops in Da Nang.
