The 12,000 billion VND, two-staged project will comprise of such functional subdivisions as research and development (R &D), software production and information technology (IT) areas, an internet hub; a data centre, workplaces for staff and other high- end auxiliary facilities with sufficient modern amenities.

Under the project, job opportunities will be created for 2,000 and 10,000 employment seekers in the 1st and 2nd stages, respectively.

In his remarks at the webinar, Chairman Tho highly appreciated the corporation’s proposal to build the CMC Creative Space, which is completely consistent with the city’s development strategies in a bid to realise its goals of developing itself into a hi-tech and IT hub in Viet Nam.

Mr Tho asked CMC Corporation to promptly submit a specific project deployment plan to the Da Nang government for consideration.  Meanwhile, the Da Nang Department of Construction will work closely with CMC corporation to ensure that the deployment of the project must strictly conform to the city’s Master Plan.

The most possible favourable conditions would be created so as to start work as soon as possible on this much-awaited project, Chairman Tho pledged.

CMC Corporation, which is Viet Nam’s second largest ICT group, has affirmed its stature in the domestic and foreign markets with its core aspects: Technology & Solution, Global Business and Telecommunications.

It is known that the inception of the CMC Creative Space in Da Nang is aimed at developing the city into Viet Nam’s international gateway for data storage and connection, within the framework of CMC Corporation’s landmark strategy of highly supporting the country’s ongoing path of turning itself into a digital hub in the Asia-Pacific region.

In reality, a digital hub is considered to be a central point of data storage and Internet traffic transit of global telecommunications, IT, and digital content providers with the large scale of service delivery. The establishment of such a hub will surely play an important role in affirming the country’s stature on the global ICT map, especially in the ongoing burgeoning era of digital economy and Industry 4.0.

In the Asia-Pacific region alone, there are currently 3 digital hubs, with each in Hong Kong (China), Singapore and Japan, respectively.  Viet Nam is now striving to develop the next one in this region.

In its effort to help realise the country’s goals, in addition to the highly promised CMC Creative Space in Da Nang, CMC Corporation is promoting the development of many other projects such as the building of a neutral, high-connection, large-scale Data Centres in Ho Chi Minh City-based Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone and Saigon High-tech Park Training Centre (SHPT).

This business has pioneered in building the Internet transit station named GMS-IX (Greater Mekong Subregion - Internet Exchange).

In addition, CMC Corporation has poured the money into the construction of the 500 billion VND Cross Viet Nam Cable System (CVCS), which is the only system in the country directly connecting the Southeast-Asia grid.

With a total length of more than 2,500km, the cable system passes through 19 provinces and cities in the country from the northern Lang Son Province to the southern Tay Ninh Province.

Thank to the system, Viet Nam has accessed to the Southeast Asian region, connecting Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia and Thailand. The system will be connected to most sea cable routes in the region such as APG, AAE-1, UNITY and FASTER.
