Over 651 billion VND to be poured into upgrade of Da Nang Biotechnology Centre
Following recent approval by the Da Nang authorities, more than 651 billion VND from the budgets of governments of Viet Nam and Da Nang, and private businesses will be spent on upgrading the existing municipal Biotechnological Centre into a biotechnology research and development (R&D) centre serving socio-economic progress of the South Central Region.

The Da Nang Department of Science and Technology will be in charge of managing the upgrade work which will be carried out during the 2020 - 2030 period.
The biotechnology R&D centre will attract domestic and foreign investment into accelerating the development of such segments in which the South Central Region has both great strengths and impressive potential as hi-tech agriculture, marine biotechnology and medicinal herbs.
The effective operation of the R&D centre is highly expected to help promote the conservation and development of biological resources, environmental protection and sustainable development of the region, and the whole country at large, in the time ahead.
Under the already-approved upgrade plans, focus will building separate 3-storey buildings dedicated for biotechnological research and application, testing probiotics and general applied research.
Besides, the construction of an workshop cluster for conducting pilot experiments, an animal experiment area, greenhouses, netting houses, experimental gardens and other auxiliary facilities, as well as procurement of machinery and equipment, will be conducted.
