The consumption of residential land lots and sea-front villas across Da Nang is highly likely to increase slightly for the remaining months of this year.

Such prediction was made by the Ho Chi Minh City-headquartered DKRA Vietnam Joint Stock Company in its latest reports on the city’s real estate market’s performance over the past 7 months.

According to the reports, between January and July, many housing segments in Da Nang suffered a sharp decline in supply and consumption due to the negative impact of the complicated Covid-19 pandemic.

In particular, the holiday resorts segment, which used to be one of the city’s most prospective, has been severely affected by the coronavirus crisis, still remaining ‘in hibernation’ over the recent times.

Also getting stuck in the same trouble, such other segments as apartments, shophouses, villas and condotels are predicted to remain on scarce supplies, and their overall purchasing power are likely to be kept at a low level for the rest of this year.

In particular, the prices of apartments will maintain its sideways trend without much volatility compared to the start of the year. However, a slight decrease in the price may occur in a few single transactions as some investors face financial flow problems triggered by the Covid-19 ‘storm’.
