The first batch of 1,700 ventilators donated by Viet Nam’s largest private business conglomerate Vingroup is being handed over to the Ministry of Health within a week, starting from 7 August, for the soon distribution to the Covid-19-hit localities of Da Nang, Hai Phong and Bac Ninh.

In detail, the under-delivery Vingroup-donated batch consists of 1.500 VFS-410 and 200 VFS-510 invasive ventilators.
The two made-in-Viet Nam ventilator models are manufactured completely within the Vingroup ecosystem, boasting a localisation rate of up to 70%.
The VFS-410 and VFS-510 have been assessed by domestic quality management and health bodies to ensure strict compliance with relevant standards for use in Viet Nam.
The two models of ventilators are expected to meet growing demand for novel coronavirus disease treatment equipment from Viet Nam's hospitals amid the coronavirus crisis, as well as to prove useful for local intensive care units in the future with long-term value and efficacy.
In other supportive move, Vingroup has also pledged to donate high quality medical chemicals worth nearly 35 billion VND to the country’s health sector. The donated chemicals will be enough for the conducting of as many as 56,000 tests in total to detect the novel coronavirus via real-time polymerase chain reaction (real-time PCR) techniques in the pandemic-hit localities
Addressing a donation reception ceremony on Friday, Acting Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long sincerely thanked Vingroup for its support to help the country tackle Covid-19 outbreak.
He singled out the group as a pioneer in Viet Nam that has successfully researched and developed ventilator models to replace imported ones when supply chains have been disrupted globally due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
It is noticeable that Vingroup was also the biggest donor that has offered more than 100 billion VND to the country’s health sector for the purchase of medical supplies.
A testing lab with a daily capacity of 500 samples has also put into operation in the Da Nang Vinmec International Hospital.
