During their meeting, Minister Dung underlined a must-do for Da Nang to develop innovative and creative mindset to make more breakthroughs in a bid to secure Da Nang position as a regional leader in Central Viet Nam and Central Highlands.

In particular, it is necessary for the city to attract high-tech projects and develop high-quality logistics services in a bid to create added value, hereby speeding up Da Nang exports in an effort to provide a stable source of revenue in the long term.

In particular, the Ministry of Planning and Investment will help Da Nang develop appropriate policies to realise the city’s ambitious target of becoming a financial hub in Central Viet Nam in line with Vietnamese Prime Minister’s instructions

Also at the event, Da Nang People's Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho reported an overview of the city’s socio-economic performance over the 2015 - 2020 period and its medium-term plans for public investment during the 2021 – 2025 period.

In particular, Da Nang is now looking forward to the on-schedule disbursements of more than 48,000 billion VND in grants from Viet Nam's national government to carry out 41 projects citywide during the 2021 - 2025 period.

Besides, the Da Nang leader also urged the Ministry of Planning and Investment to consider the national government grants for such large-scale major projects in the city as the first stage of the Lien Chieu mega-port, the Da Nang University Village and the expansion of the Da Nang Hi-tech Park.

Likewise, Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Truong Quang Nghia hoped that the active support from the Ministry of Planning and Investment would facilitate Da Nang to obtain the successful deployment of the above-mentioned projects.

Also at the meeting, Chairman Tho awarded certificates of merit to 3 individuals from the Ministry of Planning and Investment for their remarkable engagement in following the Politburo-issued Resolution No 43-NQ/TW regarding the Da Nang’s development to 2030 with a vision to 2045 dated 24 January, 2016, with a target of developing Da Nang into a modern-smart, ecological and global city, and turning the city into a centre for entrepreneurship and innovation in Asia.
