Work has been allowed to resume on the construction site of the 1st stage of the Hoa Lien Water Plant project in Hoa Vang District.

Currently, the construction of drains, a sedimentation tank and fences, and the digging of foundations for a raw water pumping station and a management office, at the project are underway.

Mr Luong Thach Vy, the Head of the Management Board of the Da Nang Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects, said that appropriate infection control precautions have been put in place in construction sites to protect workers, including mandatory social distancing between workers, daily on-site body temperature measurement, and wearing face coverings to limit the spread of the virus. The construction workers will be arranged to go to market to buy food in rotation.

Mr Vy said that the 1st stage of the project is expected to be completed in June 2021. Once fully operational,  the project will ensure the delivery of adequate water for residents in the districts of Lien Chieu, Thanh Khe, Hai Chau, Son Tra, and Hoa Vang.

A bustling working atmosphere has been seen at the construction site of a bridge spanning the Co Co River in Ngu Hanh Son District’s Hoa Hai Ward.

Engineer Nguyen Van Nhuong said “All construction engineers and workers on the construction site strictly follow the recommended infection control precautions to protect themselves and others. We prioritise using more machine power than human labour on the construction site”.

Mr Nhuong noted that construction workers have been working 3 shifts a day to keep progress on track. 40% of the construction work has been completed to date. The project is expected to be completed by 30 April on schedule.

In a similar vein, construction works on the riverside Tuyen Son-Tuy Loan route, the 1st stage of the ring road project connecting National Highway No 14B and the Ho Chi Minh Trail, the DT601 and DH2 roads are on track.

Chairman of the Hoa Vang District People’s Committee Nguyen Ha Nam said the main obstacles to the implementation of some key projects in his locality are site clearance and compensation work.

Therefore, he urged the management boards of the projects to speed up the site clearance work  so that these projects can be carried out soon.
