Da Nang learns from experience in renewable energy of south-central coastal provinces
A group of representatives from the Centre for Energy Saving and Technology Transfer Consultancy under the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology visited south-central coastal provinces of Phu Yen, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan, from 4-8 October, to learn from their experience in renewable energy development.
The Da Nang visitors visited some solar and wind power plants in these localities such as the Hoa Hoi solar power plant in Phu Yen Province, the Trung Nam wind power plant in Ninh Thuan Province, and the Phong Phu solar power plant and the Phu Lac 1 wind power plant both in Binh Thuan Province.
Da Nang boasts a great potential for solar energy development with average sunshine hours per year up to 2,100 hours, and an average radiation intensity of 4.89kWh / m2 / day.
Da Nang has great potential for developing and using renewable energy sources for both now and in the future with its potential for solar power generation being 0.733kWh/m2/day.
From 2020, Da Nang will prioritise promoting the development of renewable energy, especially rooftop solar panel installation. Also, special attention will be paid to encouraging home and business owners in Da Nang to generate their own solar electricity with a rooftop solar panel installation.
