Da Nang and other localities foster links to boost tourism post-Covid

An public attention-catching forum on fostering links between the central key economic region and the country’s biggest cities, namely Ha Noi and HCM City to boost tourism growth, took place in Quang Nam Province’s Hoi An on Friday afternoon. On the spotlight of the event’s agenda was the signing of many tourism cooperation agreements between the participating localities over the 2020 - 2025 period.

The central key economic region consists of Da Nang and the provinces of Thua Thien - Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung, Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Le Trung Chinh and leaders of the localities in the central key economic region and more than 350 local delegates attended the event.

This forum marked a new development step in the cooperative ties between the participating localities in order to restore traveller confidence, stimulate travel demand for the rebound and revitalisation of the domestic tourist market amidst Viet Nam tourism sector is bearing the brunt of the coronavirus pandemic.

There were intensive discussions on how to boost the state management of tourism activities, the development of tourism human resources, the creation of attractive new tourism products and tourism promotion enhancement.

In details, the participants got actively involved in experience exchanges on fully tapping the great values of diverse tourism resources in association with cultural, historical relics, traditional craft villages, and cuisine quintessence so as to create attractive new tourism products, hereby helping tempt back tourists, encourage them to increase their spending and extend their stay periods in the participating localities.

Also, within the framework of the forum, such other activities as a business matching and an exhibition promoting top-rated tourist attractions and tourism products in the localities were carried out.

Also at the forum, the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee donated financial aids to some central localities heavily battered by recent storms and floods. In detail, Quang Nam received 10.6 billion VND in aid, whilst Quang Ngai with more than 8.7 billion VND, Thua Thien Hue with 7 billion VND, Binh Dinh with 3 billion VND, and Da Nang with 200 million VND.
