The prices of most food in Da Nang have remained stable despite severe weather such as torrential downpours and devastating floods hampering Da Nang in recent times.

Retailers and distributors in Da Nang have sourced large volumes of food from other localities nationwide, hereby ensuring adequate food supply for local residents.

In recent days, grocery prices at such traditional markets as Dong Da, Con, Han, Hoa Cuong and Tuy Loan have been fairly stable.

The main reason was thought to be that food was sourced from such northern localities as Ha Noi and Hai Duong apart from Da Nang’s traditional partners in Da Lat, Dak Lak and Lam Dong.

However, the prices of vegetables have become significantly more expensive than usual as vegetables are mainly sourced from Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Hue that have been worst hit by recent destructive storms and floods. More than 50% of vegetable growing areas in these localities have been damaged due to such natural disasters. Thus, vegetable supply will continue to remain under pressure with their prices at elevated levels.
