Changes to Vietnamese laws on foreigners introduced to Japanese businesses in Da Nang
Updated information and latest legal documents on taxes, customs, health insurance, social insurance, transportation, residency management of foreigners, management of workers, isolation guidelines for foreign experts and their relatives when entering Viet Nam in light of coronavirus crisis, were put on the spotlight at Wednesday's seminar.
Co- hosted by the Da Nang Investment Promotion and Support Board and the Da Nang chapter of the Japanese Business Association, the one-day event aimed to introduce changes to Vietnamese legislation on foreigners to Japanese businesses operating in Da Nang
During the event, all questions relating to arising challenges facing Da Nang-based Japanese businesses during their operation in the city were thoroughly answered by relevant local agencies.
In his speech delivered at the event, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh praised Japanese investors for their high sense of responsibilities and devotion to the community, and strictly obeying Vietnamese laws.
Mr Minh pledged that Da Nang government is always willing to create the most favourable conditions for foreign investors, including those from Japan, to seek investment opportunities and operate effectively in the city.
As of November, Japan has remained the number one source of foreign direct investment (FDI) for Da Nang, delivering 213 projects totalling over 917 million US$ and thousands of jobs. The Japanese-invested projects account for 25% of Da Nang's total FDI projects, and over 23% of the total FDI channeled into the city.
The majority of the Japanese-invested projects involve in such aspects as information technology, and manufacturing and processing industries.
Of special note, since its establishment in 2008, the Da Nang chapter of the Japanese Business Association has made great efforts to promote the city’s growth.
