Da Nang Airport receives international accreditation for COVID-19 health standards
The Da Nang International Airport has been the second Vietnamese airport after Noi Bai Airport in Ha Noi to receive a certification from the Airports Council International (ACI) Airport Health Accreditation (AHA) programme. It was awarded after the careful assessment of how well its health measures align with worldwide standards and industry best practices amidst the complicated COVID-19 pandemic.

In attendance at the certification handover ceremony were ACI World's Director General Luis Felipe de Oliveira and representatives of this non-profit organisation in the Asia-Pacific region.
The certification clearly proved Da Nang airport’s strong commitment towards meeting strict health and hygiene requirements which are consistent with global recognised standards, ACI World's Director General, Luis Felipe de Oliveira said.
To be eligible for the AHA certification, the Da Nang airport had to undergo a very rigorous evaluation processes required by both ICAO and ACI, in terms of major criteria, namely cleaning and disinfection, physical distancing (where feasible and practical), staff protection, physical layout, passenger communications and passenger facilities.
In particular, the aviation health safety protocol and the safety operation procedures for passengers amidst the globally complicated COVID-19 pandemic have applied effectively at the airport.
In hopefully, the Da Nang airport staff will continue to strengthen their works and conduct ongoing self-assessment according to the evolving situation of the pandemic, with a view to maintaining the safe and healthy environment and building passengers’ confidence in travelling by air.

ACI is the only global trade representative of the world’s airports. Established in 1991, ACI represents airports interests with governments and international organisations such as ICAO, develops standards, policies and recommended practices for airports, and provides information and training opportunities to raise standards around the world.
The ACI-launched AHA programme provides airports with an assessment of how aligned their health measures are with the ACI Aviation Business Restart and Recovery guidelines and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council Aviation Restart Task Force recommendations along with industry best practices. The programme is open to all ACI member airports of all sizes in all regions.
