Da Nang Port welcomes 500 thousandth TEU of cargo this year
A Da Nang Port JSC-hosted ceremony to mark the unloading of 500 thousandth TEU of cargo this year recently took place at the Tien Sa Port.
This 500 thousandth TEU of cargo was unloaded from Evergreen’s STRIDE ship which had docked at the Tien Sa Port. The 182m-long, 25,926DWT ship has a capacity of 2,174 TEUs of cargo. It travels on the Northern Shipping Company-operated shipping route connecting Central Viet Nam and Southern Viet Nam with East Asia and North Asia.
By late this year, the Tien Sa Port is likely to have handled an estimated 550,00 TEUs of cargo in total, a rise of 16% against 2019. The port’s total estimated revenue is expected to have climbed by 11%, whilst its profits is predicted to have gone up by 14.53% when compared with the previous year.
Every week, the port receives about 27 container ships, amongst of which are operated by the world’s leading container shipping companies, including Wanhai, SITC, Yangming, Maersk Lines, Evergreen, MSC, CMA-CGM, and ZIM.
In the years ahead, the port will continue to secure its position as the largest port in Central Viet Nam, and one of the largest in the country.
