In reality, the global coronavirus outbreaks affected socio-economic activities around the world, and disrupted supply chains and global trade flows. Inevitably, the pandemic caused a number of firms in Viet Nam to stop operation, narrow down business scale and slash jobs.
Domestic experts pointed out that the major cause for businesses closing down was delays in renovating their operation models. In comparison, those which actively applied tech had more chance to survive and gain profits even amid the pandemic.
Encouragingly still, many businesses in Da Nang have spent much time promoting technological innovations which play a critical role in accelerating their post-pandemic recovery.’
Operating in the household appliances industry, since July, the Hai Chau District-based Le House Production, Trade and Service company has made the purchases of two new silicone molding machines for producing new glass cutting boards, with a daily capacity of 200 products. These are high-class, durable, eye-catching and easy-to- use, and humus- free products as compared to wooden ones.
Till date, thanks to its boldness and proactiveness, no sooner had the second coronavirus wave been contained effectively in Da Nang than Le House’s brand-new product promptly rose to fame to secure a firm foothold in the local market with a high consumption rate.
Ms Dang Thi Hang, Director of Le House company, highly appreciated the application of new equipment and machinery into production in helping her company considerably improve productivity and product quality, hereby receiving large orders during the post-pandemic period, and maintaining stable production activities and the payrolls for its staff.
Also, technology innovations clearly enable Le House to build up a long-term operation plans for the next few years, with a focus on expanding the domestic market and boosting exports to some Asian countries such as Thailand, South Korea and Japan.
In regard to catering services, during the past social distancing period in Da Nang from early August and late September, the Da Nang Marina Co., Ltd. has focused on re-designing the decoration space of its own Marina restaurant located on Tran Hung Dao Street, Son Tra District.
The Marina restaurant now boasts a new coat which simulates the model of the Vapiano restaurant hailed as a ‘cross between a pasta restaurant, pizzeria, lounge and bar in an Italian style’.
Marina now treats its customers with impressively-designed food stalls displaying dishes sourced from Viet Nam, Italy, South Korea, Japan and Brazil, promising them new interesting culinary experiences
In a similar vein, many production facilities in the Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village have sought many highly-feasible solutions to withstand difficulties arising from the coronavirus crises.
A facility owned by artisan Nguyen Van Toan in Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, for example, has bought a 792 million VND automatic stone lathe system, with a product programming application to facilitate production processes.
Thanks to the new machine, his unit’s productivity has been 20 times higher than that during the usage of the old one, hereby helping ensure correct designs, high aesthetics and competitiveness and the proportion of products to satisfy the strict requirements of customers.
Having braced for many market fluctuations due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many businesses in Da Nang expected the market to flourish considerably in the coming time.
