The launch of such booths is one of the new ideal ways implemented by the municipal Women's Union in a bid to open up even more opportunities for ‘female entrepreneurs’ to bring their ‘brainchildren’ closer to local consumers, and more hopefully, even those from other parts of Viet Nam in the coming time.
On displays at the well-designed booths are a wide range of items such as yogurt,‘ bo kho’ (dried beef), ‘trai cay say’ (dried fruit), mother and child care products, handmade crochet products, home cleaning solutions and handmade ceramics.
Ms Nguyen My Hanh, the owner of Sister Food fruit yogurt making establishment based at 80 Nguyen Pham, Hoa Cuong Bac Ward, Hai Chau District, cheerfully said “My products have been increasingly known by local customers via Facebook. Now through their displays at such large introductive booths in the inner city, my products can be accessible to more consumers”.
Encouragingly, Hanh’s homemade yogurt brand has won outstanding prizes at municipal and district-level contests seeking startup initiatives.
Another ‘trader’, Ms Tran Thi Dong Phuong, the owner of Lana Handmade shop specialising in handmade knitting items at 6 Le No, Hoa Cuong Nam Ward, Hai Chau District took the shoppers by surprise with her eye-catching handmade products showing her high levels of dedication and meticulousness.
The majority of these products on display for sale included handbags and pieces of macrame- a form of textile produced using knotting techniques. Ms Phuong-made products have been purchased by thousands of customers both at home and overseas.
Recent times have seen synchronous approaches taken the municipal Women's Union to lend a helping hand to new ‘female entrepreneurs’.
Accordingly, many short-term training courses, contests to seek startup ideas , capital support and consultancy services on how to make business plans have been launched in favour of supporting women on their tough paths of bringing their creative startup ideas into fruition.
Ms Tran Thi Thu Hanh, Vice Chairman of the municpal Women's Union pointed out to the concerning fact that many women still face many difficulties in starting a business, especially in terms of business scales, competitiveness and management qualifications.
Hence, not only do the aforementioned highly practical activities offer a relaxing startup playground for women, but they also facilitate ‘female entrepreneurs’ boost their exchanges on how to expand consumer markets and enhance product quality.
In reality, women are the emerging power of the modern economy, and of course, once they get access to technology and a good environment, ‘female entrepreneurs’ will become an undeniable force.
