Being as attractive as other parts of Da Nang, Lien Chieu District can take pride in its own great tourism development potentials, especially its ecotourism by Cu De River, the Lang Van area, Hai Van Tunnel and the untapped beauty of Nam O natural landscape. The Lien Chieu District authorities are focusing on accelerating tourism projects in a bid to bring a facelift to this district.

Major ‘bottlenecks’ hindering the development of some tourism projects in the district were removed at last month’s meeting between representatives from their developers and Da Nang government.

Accordingly, the municipal government has already given the green light for the development of a park at the end of Nguyen Tat Thanh coastal street, a coastal erosion-resistant embankment system in the soon-to-be- developed large-scale Nam O eco-tourism project, and the Nam O Reef project in Lien Chieu District. All off them are expected to be developed by the Vietnamese Trung Thuy Group (TTG).

Work on the park and Nam O Reef projects is slated to commence on 1 March, and they are scheduled to be put into use on 1 June.

Meanwhile, the coastal erosion-resistant embankment system is scheduled to commence its construction in July and reach its completion six months later.

The Department of Construction and the Lien Chieu District authorities have created the most favourable possible conditions for the TTG to complete administrative procedures to start the two projects and put them into operation on schedule.

As for the development of a residential area western of the Nam O eco-tourism project, relevant agencies will submit investment policy to Da Nang government for approval in March, hereby paving the way for the start of this project in September.

Up to now, the developer of the aforementioned projects, Trung Thuy, has shown a document presenting specific timelines for the construction work.

Another landmark would-be project, the Lang Van resort and entertainment complex, was granted with an approval from the municipal government for its deployment nine years ago, but due to many objective reasons, its construction has yet to commence so far, said Mr Vo Khoa Nguyen, Chairman of the Hoa Hiep Bac Ward People's Committee.

The project’s developer, the Lang Van Investment and Development Joint Stock Company has committed to holding a groundbreaking ceremony of the project in the near future. It is known, that site clearance and compensation for the affected families is progressing on track.

Relevant district-level agencies are concentrating on completing site clearance and compensation as soon as possible to help start work on much-awaited project by late June.
