Development of technical infrastructure, urban embellishment

As planned, the 1st stage of the Hoa Lien Water Plant with a daily capacity of 120,000m3/day will be completed, and put into use by the end of the second quarter of this year.

The 1st stage of the project includes the building of a 13,606m2 reinforced concrete spillway on the Cu De River, and a 727m2 raw water pumping station.

In order to effectively tap the plant, Da Nang Water Supply Joint Stock Company (Dawaco), is mapping out plans to develop water transmission and distribution systems through the installation of the pipeline stretching from the Hoa Lien Water Plant to the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park with a total length of the route is nearly 6,000m at a total investment of nearly 187 billion VND.

According to Dawaco General Director Ho Huong, once fully operational, the very important project will synchronously connect to Dawaco's built-in water supply infrastructure, and ensure the delivery of adequate water for homes and businesses in the districts of Lien Chieu, Thanh Khe, Hai Chau and Hoa Vang.

Likewise, enthusiastic working atmosphere was seen at the dredging and floodwater drainage on the Co Co River which runs through some parts of Da Nang and neighbouring Quang Nam Province.

The dredging of the river work as part of a project to develop a waterway route connecting two of Central Viet Nam’s most well known tourist destinations for driving their local tourism development.

With regard to overall riverbank landscape designs, heed will be paid to expanding community connectivity, developing inland waterway tourism, launching diverse activities to satisfy growing demand of both locals and tourists, upgrading transport infrastructure, and speeding up adaptation to climate change.

This waterway project is expected to showcase such features as tourists boats, bridges, wharves and recreational centres, rest stops, parking lots, food and souvenir shops, emerging as alternatives to exploring Da Nang and Hoi An by car or motorbike as currently.

In Da Nang, the project will include the building an embankment system along the banks of river, exactly from the Huong Son pagoda to Bai Dai bridge, the upgrading of Bien bridge and the creation of anchorages for tourist boats in front of Quan The Am pagoda, all of which are expected to be developed at a total cost of more than 486 billion VND.

Production infrastructure brings up higher economic growth value

Infrastructure development at the Hoa Vang District-based Da Nang IT Park is progressing on track.  The park whose design is similar to the Silicon Valley model in the U.S.A., and the Hsinchu Science Park in Taiwan, China, is eyeing to become one of the best IT development communities in Asia in the near future.

Nguyen Tam Tien, General Director of the Trungnam Group, the developer of the Da Nang IT Park project, said the business is racing against time to build the factory chain on 9.3ha there with an investment of 1.5 trillion VND (65.2 million US$).

The group would also develop an apartment and villa zone for expert and engineers and an eco-park project on 26ha with a total of 2.1 trillion VND (91.3 million USD$) for accommodation facilities for investors and their families in the near future, he said.

Trungnam Group has signed Memoranda of Understanding with corporations based in the U.S.-based Silicon Valley specializing in supplying electronic circuit boards.

Trung Nam completed the first investment phase on 131ha at Da Nang IT Park with an investment of 47 million US$.

It plans to develop the second phase on another 210ha with an estimated cost of 74 million US$ in a bid to push the completion of the essential infrastructure and ecosystem of the Da Nang IT Park, ready to welcome more domestic ànd foreign investors.

“If we develop 23 factories in the Da Nang IT Park as planned to meet increasing demand from global partners. This can generate an annual revenue of several billion US$, thereby making a big contribution to Da Nang’s budget. That is within reach”, remarked General Director Tien.
