Da Nang-based Golden Bridge named among the world's new wonders by UK's Daily Mail

The Cau Vang (Golden Bridge) on the top of the Da Nang-based, the Sun Group-developed Sun World Ba Na Hills resort has come first in a list of fresh wonders of the world compiled by the UK’s daily newspaper Daily Mail.

Since its opening to the public in June 2018, the 150m-long, 12.8m-wide, eight-span  whimsical bridge has goes viral on social media channels worldwide thanks to its special architecture, extending about 4,600 feet (equivalent to 1,414 metres) above sea level.

The bridge was designed by a company called TA Landscape Architecture as though a giant's hands (made of fibre-glass and mesh wire) gently supporting the 490 ft path for pedestrians, which overlooks the resort.

In particular, the bridge which looks like a strip of silk across the sky in the foggy and fairy-like lands of the Ba Na mountains.

“In its short time open — with few visitors since March 2020, of course — more than 20,000 posts have appeared on Instagram at #goldenbridgevietnam. The principal architect, Vu Viet Anh, says he wanted 'to invoke the sensation of walking along a thread stretching through the hands of God'. Lordy!” Daily Mail reported.

Other wonders in the list include Bosco Verticale (or Vertical Forest) residential tower blocks in Milan (Italy); Gardens by the Bay urban park (Singapore); museum Soumaya in Mexico City (Mexico) and the Kalbarri Skywalk (Australia).

Previously, the Golden Bridge has risen to fame with many international wards and recognitions. The bridge was named among the 28 most stunning bridges in the world by the US-based news website Business Insider in 2020.

It was named one of the world’s most striking pedestrian bridges by the UK newspaper The Guardian in August 2018. Another UK newspaper, The Independent, has listed the Golden Bridge in its top 10 list of the world’s most incredible bridges. Other major news outlets like the BBC, AFP, Reuters, and CNN have also gushed over it.
