'Da Nang by night' trials to promise big surprise for locals and tourists

Da Nang authorities are making preparations for the trialing of the ‘Da Nang by night’ programme, a move to drive the recovery of Da Nang tourism industry, thus contributing to realising the dual goal of keep coronavirus  out of the city in tandem with boosting local social-economic operations.

The public attention-grabbing programme, which is set to begin trials on the National Day (30 April) and run until 2023 will impress both local residents and tourists with an array of highly- inviting activities.

One of the most attractive features of the programme is a series of sparkling and colourful decorative arts lighting shows themed ‘River of Light’ on the both banks of the Han River and on this river, bridges spanning Han Rivers, plus the Da Nang Administrative Centre.

Locals and tourists will immerse themselves in bustling and joyful ambiance of night-time activities and services in the An Thuong Tourist Streets and in other tourist sites across the city.

The both banks of the Han River will see a wide array of cultural events, including street carnivals of live music and dancing, and shows of street music and traditional Vietnamese arts on weekends in a bid to create cultural highlights and bustling nightlife vibes for Da Nang.

Besides, night entertainment activities will be piloted along the My An beach in Ngu Hanh Son District, as a way to promote the creation of new various types of tourism products, services and utilities targeting both local residents and tourists.

The programme will show the discovery of Da Nang culinary space through the formation of a specialised seafood quarter on the streets of Nguyen Van Thoai and the coastal Hoang Sa - Vo Nguyen Giap - Truong Sa route.

Also, the night-time ‘Happy hours’ will offer a wide range of discounts, incentives and gifts, to attract customers, in a bid to increase business efficiency in tandem with stimulating shopping demand at night, especially after 10:00 pm daily.

Many tourism experts hailed ‘Da Nang by night’ for creating more attractive new tourism products, contributing to driving the city's growth, creating more employment opportunities, and promoting community connections and social exchanges for local residents and tourists.

In his perspectives, Mr Dang Quang Man, Director of Helio Da Nang entertainment complex underlined a need for Da Nang government, tourist sites, media, travel agencies and service providers across the city to publicise the brand ‘Da Nang by night’, thus helping lift up the value of the city’s brand and encouraging tourists to increase their spending during their stay in the city.

Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Truong Thi Hong Hanh said her unit is focusing on building up a specific communication plan for ‘Da Nang by night’ through  a visual way using banners, advertisements on media channels, and leaflets handed out to  tourists at the airport and railway station, and other related locales. Also, groups which specialising in selling ‘Da Nang by night’ tours will be set up.

Da Nang tourism industry will complete the implementation plans for ‘Da Nang by night’ as soon as possible as this programme is highly expected to be a new tourism product to stimulate travel demand in the coming time.
