Da Nang, on Friday, welcomed two domestic M.I.C.E (Meetings-Incentives-Conferences-Exhibitions) delegations with a combined total of 500 visitors, organised by Viettours and Viettravel.

Da Nang has isssued supportive policies benefiting M.I.C.E delegations. Tourists arrive at the Da Nang  Airport.

One consists of 400 visitors from Prudential who are staying in Da Nang for the Prudential Banca Kickoff 2021 event from 12 -14 March. The other comprises 120 employees from a company in the northern province of Ninh Binh, and they are enjoying M.I.C.E trips to both Da Nang and neighbouring Quang Nam Province’s Hoi An from 12 to 15 March.

It is known that these above-mentioned visitors are amongst the first within the city’s piloted programme for supporting the first 100 M.I.C.E delegations to Da Nang in 2021.

It is known that, previously, two operators, Viettours and Vietravel had contacted the the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Centre to update the municipal government’s direction and guidance on COVID-19 prevention and control applicable to all arrivals in the city.

Accordingly, the visitors’ departure locales were checked based on the QR code, and all of them were required to make medical declarations before taking flights and again at serviced accommodation establishments, and followed other mandatory safety measures against the coronavirus.

Early April, the city is expected to welcome additional 1,600 M.I.C.E visitors.

With regard to preferential policies targeting the first 100 M.I.C.E delegations to Da Nang this year, for delegations of 1,000 - 2,000 people or more, Da Nang leaders in person attend welcome ceremonies or send greeeting letters. Also, a vehicle will be offered for guiding delegations.

As for delegations of 500 -999 visitors, representatives of the municipal Department of Tourism welcome visitors at the Da Nang International Airport and present bouquets to delegation leaders.

With regard to delegations of 100 - 499 clients, the leaders of the municipal Tourism Promotion Centre are in charge of welcoming and presenting flowers to delegation leaders at the airport.

Besides, there are a wide range of support policies in terms of media services such as posting news on M.I.C.E delegations in Da Nang-based newspapers, TV channels, Danang Fantasticity’s websites, and social media channels,10 - 40% discounts on facilities for using meeting rooms and halls, along with accommodation rates, sound, and lighting services at M.I.C.E venues.

Also, M.I.C.E delegations enjoy exemption and reduction of entrance fees at popular local tourist sites, reductions of transportation costs, and flexible air ticket change and refund policies.
