Over recent days, construction sites of these healthcare projects have seen a busy, bustling working atmosphere as all of the workers have been racing against time to speed up the deployment tempo after previous stagnations mainly triggered by the COVID-19 crisis and harsh weather conditions raging during the last year.

After one year of construction, the second stage of the Cardiovascular Centre of the Da Nang General Hospital is entering the stage of completion.

Deputy Director Nguyen Huu Nhat of the Management Board of Da Nang Infrastructure Construction and Urban Development Projects, the centre developer cum manager, affirmed this is a key healthcare project with the aim of completing and synchronising the facilities of the Da Nang Cardiovascular Centre, hereby enhancing the quality of healthcare services for the public across Da Nang, and Central Viet Nam and Central Highlands at large.

“Currently, construction units are completing the remaining works and conducting the installation of specialised equipment. The whole project is expected to come into operation in the second quarter of this year. This is the progress tempo that we have made committed to fulfill, regardless many difficulties facing last year”, said Mr Nhat

The centre is recognised as the leading medical facility in Central Viet Nam in terms of treatment and intervention of cardiovascular diseases.

Besides, the centre will partner with leading experts from Germany, the U.S., Switzerland, Japan and other countries to organise intensive training programmes on cardiology and online medical consultations in a bid to timely save the lives of patients in critical conditions.

Another project that is slated to be put into use before its completion deadline is the headquarter exclusively arranged for medical facilities in the aspect of disease prevention under the Da Nang Center for Disease Control (CDC).

This project is initially scheduled to be put into use in May 2021, two months earlier than scheduled. Amongst Da Nang key heathcare projects that are progressing at a quick pace is the new Neurosurgery, Injury, Burn and Reconstructive Surgery with more than 471 billion VND worth of investment capital.

For the time being, work is progressing on schedule on such following items as the wastewater treatment plant and the main building with the total workload of about 70%.

The project is expected to reach its completion in August 2022 after more than 800 days of construction.

In a similar vein, site clearance has been completed to make room for the development of the more than 495 billion VND Organ Transplant and Stem Cell Therapy at the Da Nang General Hospital. February 2023 is promised to see the project to take the complete shape.

In addition, bustling construction atmosphere has been observed on the development of the first stage of both Son Tra and Cam Le district-level medical centre projects, valued at over 241.5 billion VND and more than 238.8 VND, respectively. Both of them are slated to be put into use in 2022.

“After Tet breaks, we have worked with construction units to seek ways to accelerate the construction progress. According to the general assessment, the capacity of contractors is ensured in terms of manpower and quality. The progress of the works, of course, will certainly be accelerated than ever before”, the Management Board of Da Nang Infrastructure Construction and Urban Development Projects affirmed.
