Based on bar code reading and image analysing technologies, the system is able to automatically sort packages for distribution to district and commune-level addresses across Central Viet Nam with a capacity of tens of thousands of postal parcels per hour.

The system is also capable of handling parcels with different weights, shapes and sizes, suitable for e-commerce goods.

In addition, the system has been integrated by Viet Nam Post with information technology systems, Vmap digital map platform providing the accurate details of any particular area of Viet Nam, and Vpostcode -a postal address code system - in order to build an uninterrupted and synchronous delivery process.

The sorting system helps to cut labour and improve productivity by tens of times, meeting all requirements of domestic and foreign clients.

Apart from the sorting system, the centre has also put its new tools and equipment into operation to standardise the entire process, hereby absolutely keeping parcels safe during the delivery.

Addresing the launching ceremony, Da Nang People’s Council Vice Chairman of Le Minh Trung highly hailed the postal service for helping step up administrative reform in the city. In reality, digital transformation in this aspect would contribute to Da Nang’s digital transformation targets at large, thus promoting e-commerce and logistics, towards digital and digital society.

The operation of the new system aims to help enhance the capacity of postal operation on Viet Nam’s whole postal network to reach the average annual growth rate of over 30%. This is also the essential infrastructure for the deployment of postal services, logistics and e-commerce, hereby gradually meeting the development requirements of Viet Nam Post and the country’s postal industry as a whole.

To standardise postal production processes, switching from manual to automatic sorting helps meet increasing growth speed in postal and delivery service sector, especially logistics and e-commerce.
