Work to hopefully commence on many Da Nang projects in 2021

Since the beginning of 2021, Da Nang relevant agencies have made efforts to speed up the completion of investment preparation procedures to start work, as soon as possible, on many basic construction, infrastructure and economic infrastructure projects across the city this year. Especially, construction is slated to commence on some projects to celebrate the 46th anniversary of the Liberation Day of Da Nang (29 March) and the National Reunification Day (30 April), all of which are together promised to give Da Nang a facelift.

The Da Nang Management Board of Traffic Project Investment and Construction is making  investment preparation procedures to start the construction of a waste transfer station in Son Tra District on 29 March.

The project will be developed at the site of the former Tho Quang wastewater treatment plant, which has been replaced by the new modern Son Tra plant with more highly efficient and modern treatment technology.

As the project’s key parts, a waste treatment building block with a total gross internal floor area of 1,297m2 will take shape, featuring areas for waste pressing, bulky garbage disposal and recyclable waste classification, plus preliminary wastewater treatment system and a washing venue for garbage trucks enter or leave the would-be waste transfer station.

Also under the project, there will be the construction of an administrative building block and a 2-storey warehouse with a total gross internal floor area of  594m2.

The project will be designed with such environmental protection facilities as a misting system providing effective odour control without affecting the surrounding environment, and a centralised wastewater treatment system with a daily capacity of 100m3 serving the entire project. The treated wastewater will be transferred to the Son Tra wastewater treatment plant for further treatment.

Another waste transfer station will take shape on Hai Chau District-based Le Thanh Nghi Street in the time ahead.

In another move, the Da Nang Management Board of Traffic Project Investment and Construction has submitted the construction drawing of a square combined with a parking area at the end of Nguyen Sinh Sac Street in Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District at a total investment of more than 16 billion VND, to the municipal Department of Construction for approval.

This project will feature such major facilities and utilities as a square, a parking area, internal walking paths, a public seating area, green trees, public toilets, lighting system, parking areas, outdoor fitness and gym equipment.

Once approved by the Department of Construction, the project will start on 30 April.

The Da Nang Port Joint Stock Company are working closely with the municipal authorities to carry out necessary procedures for the construction of a container freight station covering a total area of 20 hectares in Hoa Nhon Commune, Hoa Vang District, at a total investment of about 800 billion VND, a moving step to form a logistics centre in Central Viet Nam and Central Highlands regions.

Mr Tran Le Tuan, Chairman of the Board of Directors cum Acting General Director of the Da Nang Port Joint Stock Company said his unit is racing against time to complete necessary procedures so that work can start on the first stage of this project on the National Day (2 September), whilst the second stage will kick off in 2022, and the entire project is expected to be reach its completion by 2023.

Meanwhile, the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Zones Authority is partnering with US investors to urgently implement procedures to start the construction of a 110 million US$ semiconductor factory in the third quarter of this year at the Hi-Tech Park.

In addition to the aforementioned major projects, this year is highly expected to see the development of others.

Prominent amongst them are the second stage of a project for restoring and embellishing the Dien Hai citadel and its southern surrounding areas, the upgrade of the 42 Bach Dang facility into new Museum of Da Nang, the first stage of the Da Nang Vocational Junior College, the second campus of the Hoa Vang Senior High School, the upgrade of the Phan Chau Trinh Senior High School campus at 154 Le Loi, the Hoa Xuan Ward-based Cam Le waste transfer station, the resettlement area for displaced families affected by the Da Nang University Village project, the upgrade of the Da Nang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital and a 400-bed high-quality technical, examination and treatment centre, the first stage of the Thanh Khe District Medical Centre, the second stage of the smart multi-storey parking garage at 255 Phan Chau Trinh, and the first stage of a parking area at 166 Hai Phong.
