Da Nang aims for 6% GRDP growth in 2021
The Da Nang government recently mapped out plans for local socio-economic development in 2021, including a growth target of 6% in the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) as compared to 2020.
In order realise this target, the priority will be given to attracting even more domestic and foreign investment inflows, and speeding up the progress of key projects across the city and the capital disbursement for basic construction works for the sake of the city’s growth.
The city authorities, in the coming time, will coordinate with relevant ministries and national agencies to seek approval from the national government and the Prime Minister for amendments and supplements to the current Decree No 144/2016 / ND-CP on a number of on special mechanisms for Da Nang in terms of investment, finance, budgetary status, and decentralisation.
Also, work will embark upon making the Da Nang Master Plan for its major developments for the 2021 – 2030 period, with a vision towards 2050.
Efforts will be made to implement the landmark programme ‘2021: The year of restoring growth and promoting economic development’, as well as fulfilling the dual goal of both keeping the city out of COVID-19 and bolstering the economy.
The coming time will see specific plans for boosting tourism restoration for 2021 - 2022 period and complete a digital transformation project.
Competent local agencies will be tasked with carrying out a research project to develop Da Nang into regional-level financial hub.
